The System Updater module allows administrators to manage over-the-air (OTA) software updates and create/restore data backups.

Checking for Updates

  1. Go to Settings > System Updater.
  2. Click Check for Updates.
  3. If an update is available, a changelog will be displayed.
  4. Click Install Update. The system will update and restart in approximately 2–5 minutes.

Creating a Backup

  1. Under System Updater > Backups, click Create Backup Now.
  2. Choose backup scope: Full (all data) or Partial (contacts only, settings only, etc.).
  3. The backup file will be generated and available for download as a .zip file.
  4. Store backups in a secure offsite location (Google Drive, S3, etc.).

Restoring a Backup

  1. Click Restore Backup and upload the backup .zip file.
  2. Select what to restore: All data, Contacts only, Settings only.
  3. Click Confirm Restore. Note: This action is irreversible.
⚠️ Always create a fresh backup before installing any update. While updates are tested, having a backup ensures you can roll back if something unexpected happens.
